Talking AUTOMATE 2017 with ATI Industrial Automation

Contributed by | ATI Industrial Automation

Your company will be exhibiting at AUTOMATE 2017, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?

Automate is the definitive event for robotics and automation technologies in North America. ATI designs and manufactures products that are ideal for robotic automation, but we have many customers utilizing our products for general automation applications as well. Automate showcases such a wide variety of products, technologies, and solutions within the automation spectrum. It’s the perfect opportunity for us to interact with prospective customers who are considering automation, targeting a specific application solution, or looking to improve an existing automated process. It also gives us a chance to follow up with current customers and suppliers and see how things are going.

What can a visitor to your booth expect to see this year?

We will feature four live robotic demonstrations and a variety of products on display in our booth. Our knowledgeable account managers will be on site as well to help with your specific applications. Are you considering making the transition to automation? Bring your questions, we would love to work with you.

Any new products you will be introducing?

Our QC-46 Robotic Tool Changer, new Deburring Tools and new Force/Torque Sensors will be available for customers to see and touch.

When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see?

We love checking out the latest technologies and robotic demonstrations. Catching up with customers who are using our products in innovative ways is always a joy. The keynote speakers are a huge inspiration to us as well. Automate gives ATI a chance to show off our best technologies, but it’s also a tremendous educational resource. We get a sneak peek into the direction automation is heading next plus insight on the difficulties and challenges our customers face.

AUTOMATE 2017 has over 100 educational sessions, is your company involved in any of them this year?

ATI will be participating in the Automate expert “Huddles”. Held right on the show floor, these informal sessions bring attendees face-to-face with industry experts to discuss specific topics. ATI Applications Engineer, Dan Merritt, will act as Huddle Referee for a breakout session called When Does it Make Sense to Move to Robotic Material Removal? This huddle will take place on Monday, April 3rd at 2:30PM. Be sure to catch up with Dan during the show to discuss your questions.

When you book a booth for a tradeshow like this what are your expectations and what does your company hope to accomplish at the event?

Naturally, we want to build awareness of our brand, and inform both new and existing customers about the products and services we provide. Beyond that, Automate is an opportunity for all exhibitors to celebrate the benefits of automation. A huge tradeshow like this is much more than a way to generate sales leads. For ATI, it’s a chance for us to anticipate the needs of our customers and benchmark ourselves. If we can help, we’d like to.
