Talking IMTS with Eplan USA

Contributed by | Eplan USA

Tell us about your company.

EPLAN was founded in Germany nearly 35 years ago as an innovative software solutions and service concept in the field of electrical and fluid design, planning and design in automation technology, mechanical engineering and machine manufacturing. EPLAN offers high-end solutions in engineering and international services for customer-centric customization and integration of system solutions worldwide.

Your company will be exhibiting at IMTS, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?

We’re participating in this event is because our products and services are innovative to the electrical panel design and building industry. Since our inception, we are always looking to provide more efficient ways of electrical panel production. We have managed to expand globally reaching over 50 countries with our software and services because we work side-by-side with industry people on finding the next solution for current and future issues. We provide an international standard that has been “improved in America” to provide our US customers the resources in order to remain competitive in the ever-growing competitive market. We thrive to enable their customers to utilize their expertise more effectively in a changing global environment. We have been growing together with electrical panel and machine builders to understand the changing industry environment, including the needs and demands end-users, middle management and executives faces on a daily-basis. We’re ready to change the electrical panel designing and building industry in the United States.

Highlight a 2 or 3 products you will be showcasing at the event?

We will be highlighting Electric P8, Pro Panel and more of our software solutions.

IMTS has many educational sessions & Demo’s, is your company involved in any of them this year?

We are not scheduled to host any large demos at the show, however we will have technical consultants at our booth that will be demonstrating live demos of our software to those interested.

When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see?  Any educational sessions you plan on attending?

That’s a good question. This show is massive and important to many companies including EPLAN. That said, I look forward to seeing all the vendors. This will be my first time partaking this event and much of the event is demonstrations of innovative technology in the manufacturing space. Each company will bring out a lot of positive and exciting energy in their products and it will be great to see as much as I can.

When you book a booth for a tradeshow like this what are your expectations and what does your company hope to accomplish at the event?

What we look to accomplish at an event like IMTS is brand awareness and company presence. We are carrying a new identity to the show and new messaging, alongside our sister company Rittal, on efficient engineering solutions.

A tradeshow of this magnitude is extremely busy and stressful for the staff of exhibiting companies.  Any fun things or places your team can suggest in Chicago to help unwind?

That’s a good question because there is plenty to do in Chicago. As a native, I always tell visitors to walk the Chicago riverfront or along Lake Michigan. It’s a great way to get the fresh lake wind on your face and unwind after a long, busy day. If you’re hungry. I recommend going to some of the neighborhoods of Chicago such as Lincoln Park and Old Town. It gets you away from the hustle of downtown Chicago and enjoy a nice quiet meal. Plus the neighborhoods are very pretty for a walk afterwards. If you’re a sports fan or like a bit faster paced, check out a Chicago Cubs or Chicago White Sox baseball game. Great entertainment and loads of fun! You’ll find your niche here in Chicago!
