Emerson Opens Applications for 2025 Discrete Automation STEM Scholarship

Two merit-based scholarships awarded to U.S. students pursuing STEM careers, with additional grants to support college engineering programs

Emerson is inviting U.S. college students pursuing degrees in science, technology engineering and math (STEM) to apply for its 2025 Discrete Automation Scholarship. Established over ten years ago, the scholarship honors Emerson's legacy in discrete automation products, which have been relied upon globally for over a century. The program recognizes two exceptional undergraduate or graduate students with a $5,000 scholarship each, while also awarding $1,000 grants to the engineering departments of the recipients' colleges to support research and educational initiatives. Applications will be accepted through April 18, 2025.

Supporting Future Leaders in STEM
Emerson's scholarship is designed to support students demonstrating leadership potential and a capacity to contribute significantly to STEM fields, with particular emphasis on the application of fluid control and pneumatics technologies. Beyond financial support, recipients may also be eligible for an internship within Emerson's Discrete Automation business unit and a company-sponsored trip to PACK EXPO in Las Vegas (September 29 - October 1, 2025).

"At Emerson, we are committed to investing in the future of STEM by supporting talented students who will drive innovation in automation and technology," said Zach Gustafson, Sales Vice President at Emerson Discrete Automation. "This scholarship is meant to inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators, offering them the mentorship and resources to make an impact in their fields."
"Advancing automation technology requires bright, passionate minds that can solve tomorrow's challenges" added Zach Gustafson. "By supporting young talent through our scholarship and internship programs, we aim to create a strong foundation for the next generation of engineering leaders".

For over a decade, Emerson has supported students through scholarships and sponsorships of groundbreaking student-led projects and "We Love STEM" events, which have reached thousands of students worldwide.

Eligibility & Application
The 2025 Discrete Automation Scholarship is open to U.S. citizens and legal residents who have completed at least their first year of an undergraduate degree or are enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited U.S. higher education institution.
