PITTSBURGH … Power management company Eaton today announced new XV-300 operator interface and control products and XN-300 compact slice input/output (I/O) solutions. The XV-300 family is designed to provide industrial customers with a complete control solution, featuring an intuitive multi-touch touchscreen, logic, integrated supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) software, in addition to a web server on a Windows Compact Embedded 7 Pro operating system. The XN-300 is a CANopen based set of high-density slice I/O modules for discrete, analog and specialty industrial I/O requirements.

The XV-300 includes a powerful new industrial human machine interface (HMI) and programmable logic controller (HMI-PLC) multi-touch panel solution portfolio for operator interface automation and control applications.

With ten times the performance capacity over its legacy panel offerings, Eatons advanced XV300 multi-touch panels combine high-speed PLC logic resolution with Visual Designers advanced SCADA feature set for the first time.

The new XN-300 remote I/O system is one of the highest density I/O offerings for OEMs available on the market today. The unique combination makes it possible for OEMs and machine builders in packaging, materials handling and conveying, water treatment and food and beverage industries to leverage a reduced number of high performance I/O slices with features focused on applications to reduce installation space and costs.

The XV-300 hardware comes in two screen sizes, 7 inch and 10.1 inch, both 16:9 widescreen high resolution (1024x600) displays with a projected capacitive touchscreen (PCT) that allows the use of swipe, drag, pinch and zoom commands similar to that found on smart phones and tablets.

The integrated solution is designed to reduce cabinet space requirements and simplify architecture to provide a heavy duty, powerful, adaptable, and hygienic solution capable of supporting a wide variety of industrial and service applications. In combination, these easy-to-use tools can help OEMs minimize design complexity, reduce development time and support costs, and create value for end users through object-oriented, re-usable templates and controls. The XV300 HMI-PLC and XN300 solution supports each OEMs unique requirements while also meeting the IEC-61131 standard.

The product comes bundled with a choice of two licensed software packages. Eatons Visual Designer HMI/SCADA package offers a full-featured graphics platform to connect to traditional PLC products. Eatons XSoft-CoDeSys software bundle offers a full-featured, powerful IEC-61131 PLC combined with an integrated graphical user interface for an all-in-one HMI-PLC. For those who need both PLC and full-featured HMI/SCADA capabilities, the XV-300 can be packaged with both Visual Designer and XSoft-CoDeSys runtime software.
