CIRCOR Announces Launch Of Allweiler FE Flexi-shaft Progressing Cavity Pump For Lithium Battery Applications At Achema 2024
CIRCOR International, Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of differentiated technology products and sub-systems, announces the launch of the Allweiler FE Flexi-Shaft Progressing Cavity (PC) Pump for lithium battery applications at ACHEMA 2024, to be held June 10-14, 2024 at Fair Frankfurt in Frankfurt, Germany, Hall 8, Booth #K75.
Visit Hall 8, Booth #K75 to see pump ideal for transfer of lithium slurry
Built to last and engineered to deliver, the FE pump offers higher productivity, better reliability, and a lower cost of ownership. Visitors to the booth can learn why the Allweiler FE PC pump is ideal for production of batteries for which liquids must be transported. The pump eliminates the risk of fluid contamination while providing an efficient fluid handling solution in mission critical battery production applications like the transfer of lithium slurry.
By replacing typical pin joints with an optimized flexi-shaft, FE provides maintenance free connections with less overall wear on parts and lower service and repair time. Due to a detachable design, major wear parts like the stator and rotor can be exchanged individually, with no need to overhaul and disassemble the whole pump.
The FE pump's unique flexi-shaft design reduces the forces on the pump's rotor and stator, as well as mechanical components like seals and bearings. Due to the design of the closed cavities between rotor and stator, the fluid is released smoothly and is pulsation free. This leads to lower impact on the pumped fluid and makes the pump ideal for shear-sensitive, abrasive, and low to high viscosity fluid handling applications common to lithium battery applications. Since the flow is proportional to the speed, it can be easily controlled using an optional variable frequency drive (VFD).
The flexi-shaft PC pump is available with several optional upgrades, including a patented dry run protection integrated into the stator, in which a sensor measures the stator rubber temperature to detect a risk of dry running. Also available is a smart and patented maintenance in place design adjustment in which the stator and rotor can be replaced without the need to separate the pump from the installation.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs
Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
